 1) Peter, britischer Filmschauspieler, * Southsea (heute zu Portsmouth) 8. 9. 1925, ✝ London 24. 7. 1980; wandlungsfähiger Komiker; erfolgreich in den Filmen »Ladykillers« (1955), »Die Maus, die brüllte« (1959), »Dr. Seltsam oder Wie ich lernte, die Bombe zu lieben« (1963), »Der rosarote Panther« (1963), »Der Partyschreck« (1967), »Ein Mädchen in der Suppe« (1970), »Der rosarote Panther kehrt zurück« (1974), »Willkommen, Mr. Chance« (»Being there«, 1979).

 2) William, amerikanischer Ingenieur und Industrieller, * Upper Darby (Pa.) 19. 9. 1824, ✝ Philadelphia (Pa.) 24. 1. 1905; gründete 1856 die Firma W. Sellers & Co. für Werkzeugmaschinenbau, 1868 die Edgmoor Iron Co.; er lieferte für die Brooklynbrücke in New York das gesamte Eisenmaterial. Sellers erfand viele Werkzeugmaschinen (zahlreiche Patente) und führte 1864 das Sellers-Normalgewinde ein. Sellers gilt als einer der bedeutendsten amerikanischen Ingenieure seiner Zeit.
